Friday 21st November saw the launch of the Reading Patron initiative at the JCSP Library at Trinity Comprehensive Ballymun. Librarian Joe Kelly has cemented a very successful friendship between the school and author Sheena Wilkinson by having her come on board as the school inaugural Reading Patron for a two year term.

Waterstones Children’s Laureate 2013-2015 Malorie Blackman is inviting young people to take part in Project Remix – a competition to find the UK’s best young writers and creatives. UK residents aged 13-19 years are asked to take inspiration from their favourite writers to make their own creative work in response to the books and stories.
Chris Judge and David O’Doherty, illustrator and writer of Danger is Everywhere are taking part in a Puffin Virtually Live podcast on Wednesday 19th November.
This weekend The O’Brien Press celebrates its 40th year in business at the Dublin Book Festival with the launch of Surge, New Writing from Ireland at Smock Alley Theatre. (Places are limited so booking is essential, RSVP to email@example.com).
At Children’s Books Ireland we believe that high quality live literature events are of upmost importance when it comes to children’s enjoyment of and engagement with books.
