CBI and RTÉjr and Swipe TV Book Clubs

CBI is delighted to be working on two new bookclub partnership this year with RTEJr and Swipe TV!

RTÉjr bookclub is for the parents of children aged 0 -8 and is located on the RTÉjr website and facebook page. This online book club is full of useful tips about reading with your children as well as themed monthly book reviews. This month (February) get some great recommendations about Irish language books for younger children to celebrate Seachtain na Gaelige and next month we’ll be talking about books to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and the 1916 centernary celebrations. Oh and don’t forget to check the facebook page for giveaways and competitions!

The Swipe TV bookclub takes place on RTÉ2, on the Swipe TV app and online and is for children aged 8 – 12. Each month CBI will recommend two exciting books for this age group, this week we launched the club and kicked off with Witch Wars by Sibéal Pounder and Darkmouth World’s Explode by Shane Hegarty. The best part of the Swipe TV club is that viewers can get involved via the SwipeTV app, review the books and perhaps even get a chance to be on TV! Download the Swipe TV app for free at the Google Play Store or Apple app store or click here to watch a video about the bookclub. Swipe TV on RTE2 every weekday at 4.30 and you can watch it back on the RTÉ player.

We hope young readers and their parents get involved with our new bookclubs and enjoy! Let us know how you get on!
