An Post Storytime Express with Children’s Books Ireland – SOLD OUT

Do you have a young reader in your home who needs some inspiration? Well this midterm break An Post and Children’s Books Ireland have an extra special treat for children to help fuel their imaginations!

On Wednesday 30th October the An Post Storytime Express with Children’s Books Ireland will make a special stop on Platform 2 in Heuston Station for just a few hours. And it will be teeming with exciting activities including:

  • the Children’s Books Ireland Book Clinic, where young readers can get their personalised reading prescription,
  • art sessions with Peter Donnelly (creator ofThe President’s Glasses,The President’s Cat and The President’s Surprise) and Niamh Sharkey (former Laureate na nÓg and creator of Henry Hugglemonster)
  • readings and talks from children’s authors including E. R. Murray,
  • face painting, a doodling carriage, and more!

Every child who attends will leave with a free book and a bespoke reading guide developed in conjunction with Children’s Books Ireland.

This is a free event, but you do need a ticket. Please register for a ticket for each attendee; children and adults will need their own individual tickets.

There are two time slots; 10am to 12pm & 12pm to 2pm. Select your preferred time slot in the dropdown menu below.

Children must be accompanied and supervised at all time by a parent or legal guardian.

As this event will be taking place in a historic old train there is limited accessibility for those with wheelchairs or who may need special assistance.

Please note that this event will be filmed and photographed for future promotional use by An Post and Children’s Books Ireland. If you do not wish to be included in photographs or film, please inform a member of staff on arrival at the event.
