CBI Book Clinic @ Riverbank Arts Centre
September 28 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Saturday 28th September: 1 – 4pm
Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge.
Are you a young reader? Looking for a new series to delve into? Feeling uninspired by your bookshelves at home? Do you need a prescription for a new read? Then pop along to the CBI Book Clinic, where the CBI Book Doctor will be ready to offer the best advice for young readers.
At this special book clinic to celebrate the launch of the Sightsavers Art Competition, the book doctor will be ready with some book suggestions of titles that are as brilliant to read aloud as they are to read yourself . There are so many different ways to experience a book – you could listen to someone read it to you, read it yourself, listen to an audiobook, look at the pictures and imagine the story or read it with your fingers using Braille. The National Council for the Blind Ireland have kindly loaned our book clinic team some of their excellent Braille library books, so we’ll be able to advise young readers of all levels of vision on great books that they might enjoy.
Children will leave with a CBI Reading Passport, and a prescription for their next read to take to their local bookshop or library. The CBI Book Clinic is always free of charge and drop-in on a first come first served basis, although waiting lists will apply during busy periods.
