Recommended Irish Reads 2024 reading guide
Our annual reading guide is titled 'Recommended Irish Reads 2024' and is a celebration of the 'best of the year' from Irish artists in 2024.
This year, we decided to bring the very best of Irish born and Irish-based artists to the attention of young readers and launch our brand-new reading guide on Culture Night, Friday 20th September 2024.
Recommended Irish Reads 2024 is a celebration of the talent of Irish artists and contains 100 book reviews as published by Irish born and Irish-based authors and illustrators in 2024. Inside its pages you'll find books for young readers aged 0–18 years, spanning fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novels and more. From débuts to our Laureates na nÓg, this is a treasure trove of talent from the island of Ireland. 100 more 'read also' books are recommended for further reading to guide readers in the direction of their next great book.

Reviews are in English and some as Gaeilge, with editors' choice denoted with a star and début authors marked with a megaphone throughout the guide.
Every book included in this guide has been selected on its own merits and has been published or will be published in 2024.
