Finn's Epic Fails: Downhill From Here

When Finn’s Grandmother comes into some money, she decides to take the whole family on a holiday to Tenerife. Sounds like an epic win, right? Unfortunately for Finn that’s just not how his world works. Even on a sunny tropical island Finn can’t escape the torment of his demon older brother Jonah, the annoyance of his unicorn-obsessed little sister Masie, or the constant cringe of his Dad’s collection of Lycra cycling outfits. Poor Finn just can’t seem to catch a break, not even on the holiday of a lifetime!

This book is filled with the lows and occasional highs of pre-teen life as Finn navigates trying to fit in when born into a family that are determined to make him stand out. As a narrator, Finn brings the reader on the journey with him as we get to experience his embarrassment second-hand. The illustrations throughout help the reader to visualise what it is like to walk a mortifying mile in Finn’s shoes. 

This book is funny, fast-paced and is a great follow on from its predecessor, Finn’s Epic Fails. Finn is a deeply sympathetic character as we all know what it feels like to cringe so hard we want the earth to swallow us up!
