Children's Books Ireland is delighted to announce the schools that will be participating in our Robert Dunbar Memorial Libraries, Every Child A Reader (Primary Schools), and Everyone a Reader (Secondary Schools) programmes this year.

Inspired by our vision, ‘Every Child A Reader’, these projects have been designed to foster a genuine and lasting culture of reading in these selected schools. Through a wide range of book-gifting, creative and practical supports, alongside visits from a designated ‘Champion of Reading’, students will be empowered to read more, enjoy reading more and read more widely.

Each school will be awarded the following prizes:

  • 250 books over the course of the next year (100 of which will be selected by the students).
  • Promotional materials (posters, bookmarks, and more).
  • A Champion of Reading to work with the school. This is an author or illustrator who will facilitate workshops to support and inspire a love of reading in students.
  • Teacher resources and training on how to best use the new books in their library.
