Children's Books Ireland publishes its Impact Report 2025.
Children's Books Ireland is delighted to publish our Impact Report 2025, an in-depth review of the work we carried out last year to inspire young readers and champion exceptional Irish books, authors and illustrators across the island of Ireland.
Each year, our Impact Report gives us an opportunity to reflect on our achievements, assess our impact, and share the stories behind our work with members, donors, partners and supporters. It is a source of great pride for our team, while also helping us remain accountable and transparent about how funds are invested to create meaningful change.
A year for the books!
Thanks to the generosity of our members, funders, sponsors and donors, in 2025 we:
- Reached 95,222 children and young people through programmes including book-gifting initiatives, school engagement activities and events.
- Donated 73,442 books to young readers through schools and charities, working alongside corporate, philanthropic, government and publishing partners.
- Provided €122,669 in direct support to Irish authors, illustrators and artists through award prizes, school visits, workshop fees and commissioned work.

Children’s Books Ireland is a well-established and dynamic charity with a hard-working and ambitious team. We seek to transform the lives of children and young people through reading. Our work helps to give every young person access to brilliant books as well as the opportunity to develop a positive culture of reading. We share our expertise and enthusiasm on the best books so that adults can influence children's reading. At Children's Books Ireland we aspire to instil a love of reading that starts in childhood and lasts for a lifetime.
Through our work we also connect artists and their readers, creating unforgettable experiences and helping authors and illustrators in their careers.
