Children's Books Ireland at Dublin Book Festival 2025
We're delighted to partner with Dublin Book Festival again this year, to bring you unique literary events from 5–9th November!
The Dublin Book Festival is one of Ireland’s most successful and vibrant book festivals, running since June 2006. The annual public festival showcases, supports and develops Irish publishing by programming, publicising and selling Irish published books, their authors, editors and contributors – all in an entertaining, festive, friendly and accessible environment that reflects the creativity and personality of the Irish publishing sector and its authors.
Taking place in November, the festival programmes over 60 events in venues throughout the city of Dublin, including Dublin City Libraries, National Library of Ireland, Irish Writers Centre, The Gutter Bookshop, The National Botanic Gardens, Dublin Port, Fighting Words and many more locations.

Properbook: The Next Step
Congratulations! Your children’s book has been accepted by a traditional publishing house. But what’s next?
If you’d like information about contracts, taxes and keeping accounts, the artists’ exemption, dealing with publishers, including editors and the marketing and pr person/department, finding an agent (and why you might need one), sustaining a long-term career, how to handle rejection and more, this is the event for you.
Designed with the newly contracted or traditionally published children’s author or illustrator in mind, it will also be of interest to authors and illustrators with several children’s books under their belt. Newer children’s writers and illustrators are also welcome!
Raising Voices Showcase
Raising Voices is a programme run by Children’s Books Ireland, Dublin Book Festival, Publishing Ireland, Illustrators Ireland, and the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. It aims to develop and support aspiring artists, making work for children and young adults, whose voices have been underrepresented in literature; breaking down barriers to publication, progression and inclusion, and increasing diversity and representation in the Irish literature sector.
Join us for a showcase evening of new work by the 2025 Fellows, Amelia Etherton, Caoimhe Hennessy, Clara Laherty, Coireall Kent, Eve Magahran and Laura Ambrose.
