Children's Books Ireland are inviting teachers, parents, guardians, relatives, friends and librarians from across the island of Ireland to nominate their KPMG Reading Hero so that we can recognise and reward their efforts.

The KPMG Reading Hero Award recognises a young person’s potential and gives them encouragement to pursue their chosen path.

An up-to- 500-word written testimony from the nominator should highlight the positive attributes of the Reading Hero and tell the story of their reading achievements.

‘Daisy comes to the class teacher (myself) every morning for extra support to improve her literacy skills and can be seen reading all the time.

Daisy is my reading hero because she puts so much effort, time, sweat and tears into becoming a better reader and never resents the stories on a page but cherishes them.’

– Daisy's teacher, Ashleigh Moran, from Seaview Integrated Primary School, Glenarm Co. Antrim.
