Let's Celebrate World Book Day!

This World Book Day, let's reach more children than ever with the magic and joy of reading.
Children's Books Ireland is delighted to present these three live World Book Day events, in partnership with Dublin City Council, Creative Ireland and Foras na Gaeilge.
While these are free events, advance booking is essential. If you are attending an in-person event, please reserve one ticket per student attending.
If you are attending an online event, please reserve one ticket per device or Zoom connection. One ticket per classroom, if your group will be joining on one screen.

Rita agus an Dragún (in-person)
Join the creators of the Rita agus an Dragún series – author Máire Zepf and illustrator Mr. Ando – for a free and action-packed bilingual schools’ session exploring big feelings and how to deal with anger through story, song, drawing and DRAGONS! Suitable for classes First–Third in a gaelscoil.

One Stormy Night (in-person)
Join author of the Hazel Tree Farm series Alma Jordan and illustrator Margaret Anne Suggs for a fun, free and interactive World Book Day event! Sit back and enjoy an extract from One Stormy Night and get your pencils at the ready while Margaret Anne teaches you how to draw some of the animals featured in the book!

World Book Day Drawalong (in-person)
Let’s celebrate World Book Day with illustrators Mr Ando (Andrew Whitson) and Margaret Anne Suggs for a free, online draw-along event through Zoom, where you will learn to draw creatures big and small! Farm animals, mythical creatures, whatever your imagination feels like, grab your pencils and colours and let’s get drawing!
Each World Book Day event will be streamed live online, for schools located outside of Dublin or those unable to attend in person.
