In 2023, Aviva partnered with Children’s Books Ireland to gift Free To Be Me Little Libraries to five DEIS primary schools in Dublin, Galway, and Cork.

This project was in keeping with Aviva’s commitment to social action and continued support of diversity, equality and inclusion.

The Free To Be Me Little Libraries consist of 100 books which showcase the richness and diversity of modern Irish society and celebrate positive representation and inclusion.

As part of the programme, Aviva volunteers attended launch events in Dublin, Cork and Galway, participating in Monster Doodles to encourage the children’s creativity and engagement with the libraries.

'Dear Children's Books Ireland, we are indebted to you and Aviva for the amazing new books you have donated to our school. We recently opened a new library here in Radharc na Mara Primary School. Our library has been named, "Adventures in Bookland" and your books have pride of place in the new facility.

'The children of our school are a unique, diverse and engaged group of people. Your book selection mirrored that and already the books have been in high demand during the weekly class visits to "Bookland". We are extremely grateful and forever fortunate to be one of your lucky recipients. Please express our heartfelt thanks to all.'

– Keith Joyce, Principal of Radharc na Mara, Galway

Our thanks to Aviva and their team of volunteers for helping us bring the joy of books and illustration to schools across Ireland last year.
