Children’s Books Ireland, in association with Dublin Book Festival, is proud to present this ProperBook session exploring the Past, Present and Future of Irish Children’s Books on Friday 6th November.
The world of Irish and international children’s books has seen a lot of changes over the last twenty years. What will it look like in another twenty years’ time? Join our experienced panel for a look at the past, present and future of children’s publishing in Ireland and further afield. Speakers on the day include, Ivan O’Brien (MD, The O’Brien Press), Matthew Parkinson-Bennett (Publisher, Little Island Books), Venetia Gosling, (Children’s Publisher, Gill Books) and Caitríona Nic Sheáin (Publisher, An tSnáthaid Mhór). The panel will be chaired by children's author Sarah Webb and Melissa Campana from Children’s Books Ireland.
From children’s changing reading habits, to what publishers are currently looking for and how best to submit a manuscript, and AI and its impact on creative industries, the panel will discuss a wide range of topics and take questions from the floor.
