Like her namesake, Amelia Cheeseheart is an intrepid adventurer who loves to fly. Unlike the real Amelia Earheart, she is a mouse who lives inside the gift shop of a museum with her best friend; a timid banana loving spider called Webster.
Ice Age Alarm! the third book in this series, follows the duo’s latest night-time adventure in the museum as they visit the Cave Mice exhibit. Strange noises from the cave are terrifying the Cave Mice, and Amelia and Webster have to investigate to solve the mystery and bring the mice safely home. Amelia rises to the challenge of rescuing Webster when he gets lost because ‘a real adventurer wouldn’t abandon their friend’. This is a light-hearted story of Amelia and Webster’s triumph after a series of setbacks.

The colourful cartoon illustrations are full of movement and pace, cleverly blending enough action to entertain children and enough learning to please parents in an engaging graphic novel style. Amelia is an empowered female lead who challenges the empty bravado of her nemesis Stilton Jones who proclaims himself a world-famous mouse adventurer, but who is actually stealing exhibits.
