One Cat, Two Cats
Black cats, blonde cats, white cats, pink cats, spotty cats, stripy cats, fluffy cats, one-eyed cats … the list goes on and continues to grow with each page of this story, a lift-the-flap, pop-up book that teaches counting from one to twenty.
Every cat wears a numbered collar, collecting friends with every lift of the flap or pop of the page. This allows readers to distinguish between the old and new feline additions in each picture and facilitates counting and familiarity with each new number and its associated cat. Flaps and pop-ups are used to great effect in combination with various zany kaleidoscopic cat scenes. This is especially so towards the end of the book as the pop-ups grow larger and larger in wonderfully unexpected ways, emphasizing the quantity of cats increasing with each new kitty character.
My only complaint: needs more cats!
