Queer Heroes: Meet 53 LGBTQ Heroes from Past & Present

Each biography is accompanied by a colourful and celebratory illustration of the inspirational figure. These are often bordering the text but some important figures, such as Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, receive a full-page illustration along with a full page of text that remains decoratively bordered. Each figure is commemorated in gorgeous detail and facets of their personality appear in the illustrations. 

This collection covers figures readers would expect to find such as Freddie Mercury but also includes lesser-known figures from all over the world and most readers will learn something new. Fields of achievement vary from author, filmmaker and musician to areas such as cooking, sport and even some politicians. Some heroes are known for their activism for LGBTQ+ rights and against far-right governments.
