You and Me and the Peanut-Butter Beast

Following the success of Griffith’s best-selling Treehouse series, the You and Me series follows a similar cast of characters undertaking madcap adventures. The characters of You and Me are recalling their deepest and darkest adventure involving a Peanut Butter Beast. Along the journey they encounter a talking rock and two talking knuckleheads whilst also finding the time to wander through a mushroom forest and encounter a war between peanuts and mini-beasts! That does not even scratch the surface of the overall content of what lies within the pages – confused? I am not surprised!

This is a memorable book full of fast-paced mischief and wonderful zaniness. The writer and illustrator hold no prisoners as they capture the reader from the opening pages and take them on a whirlwind adventure. Griffiths clearly knows his audience and makes no apologies for the reader he is catering for. Absolutely integral to the creation of this incredible universe is the illustrator Bill Hope.  He speaks the same creative language as Griffiths as the immersive illustrations are bold, brash and exciting; enveloping the reader throughout. The characters of You and Me are appealing and unique; they allow the reader to experience the book from a first-person perspective making for a truly memorable adventure like no other!

This book would be suitable for any reader from the ages of six upwards but may also encourage hesitant readers from the ages of six upwards to engage in reading.
