Botany for Babies

This board book is part of a series of non-fiction titles introducing science to babies. Botany for Babies has colourful illustrations which set out interesting facts on the life cycle of a plant accompanied by simple text which further allows the reader to expand on the information given on each page.

The cover has a colourful attractive flower illustration which immediately draws you to the book. Inside, on each page, the book helpfully outlines the subject word in bold text. This word can then be further elaborated upon and used as a stepping stone to talk about the subject in more detail.

The subject of seeds is colourfully illustrated by showing different types of seeds and trees get a similar treatment. Illustrations of animals add further interest to each page. The words and illustrations allow the reader to follow the life cycle of a plant in stages with a simple explanation.

The book imparts valuable information in an easy-to-understand way which can be adapted to the age of the listener. It is a colourful exploration of the plant world. There is a lift the flap ending on the last page which is a lovely surprise.

A lot of information is packed into this little board book. It is never too early to start STEM learning, so highly recommended.
