Alfie, his sister and his mum move to a village where everything seems quiet and boring at first, until the weather starts to behave as though it has a mind of its own: things freeze over in the middle of summer; mini tornadoes appear in glasses of water. Alfie is keen to investigate and is on the lookout for the source of these disturbances – and why wouldn’t he start with the strangest man in the village?

Matters take a turn for the weirder when freak storms brew out of nowhere and an impossible creature made of lightning and electricity suddenly appears and seems to take a liking to Alfie and his sister.
This is a sweet, funny and quirky book about adventure, wonder and the scientific method – but not without some sadness. Every new chapter brought an absurd but wonderful surprise. This story will appeal to lovers of science and science fiction alike.
