Not only that, but his everyday worries get the added pressure of a world falling apart with unpredictable weather, time glitches and, most alarmingly, escapes from the Underworld by a few formidable beasts. But this time he’s not alone. His cousin, Theo (modern-day Theseus, son of Poseidon), is tagging along and getting him into more trouble along the way. Will the boys, along with pals Hatty, Pav and Natthew, come out on top and show everyone, including the gods, what a hero truly is?
This book will certainly win the hearts of readers who enjoy the diary format, and also with a general interest in Greek mythology. The story has great support by the appealing comic-style illustrations that bring out the humour and fun of the narrative. The author has managed to blend the everyday dilemmas of family life into the fiction in a seamless and entertaining way, making the characters of Hercules, and those around him, very relatable and fun to read about.
